Dev'essere stata un'esperienza interessante, quella vissuta dai giovanotti svedesi di belle speranze che rispondono al nome di Sonic Syndicate.
Nati nel 2002 per mano dei tre fratelli Sjunnesson (Richard, Roger e Robin) si sono trasformati in un sestetto (persino esagerati...), hanno rilasciato un disco di debutto ("Eden Fire" per la minuscola Pivotal Rockordings) e poi hanno tentato la fortuna. Nella fattispecie hanno partecipato a un contest indetto dalla Nuclear Blast; 1500 partecipanti, un solo vincitore. Ovvero Sonic Syndicate. Un'impresa notevole, non c'è che dire, che ha garantito loro l'opportunità di rilasciare il nuovo "Only Inhuman" proprio per la label tedesca.
Ed ora eccoli qui, pronti per mettersi in evidenza o almeno questo è ciò che sperano. Onestamente mi auspicavo qualcosa di diverso (non necessariamente di meglio), che non il consueto, per quelli che sono gli standard attuali, mischione di metal moderno, arrangiamenti gotici, metal-core melodico e ascendenze estreme/orecchiabili scandinave, ovvie in questo caso.
Di contro c'è da dire che hanno un certo tasso di appetibilità commerciale, che li potrebbe anche far entrare nei gusti del pubblico, però dovevano optare per un sound meno prevedibile!

Difficile infatti resistere di fronte alla carica di canzoni come "Afterneath" o "Denied".
Quando vi troverete a cantare testi intrisi di lirismo come "You’re someone to the world, but you’re the world for someone" non dite che non vi avevo avvertito!!
